Receiving a double portion!

God delights in His people and love them, He therefore gave them a double portion…

In Isaiah 61:6-7 we read about God giving a double portion to His people. Again in 1Kings we read about Elisjah wanting a double portion of the Spirit of Elijah. AND he received it for God honour godly desires.

Delight yourself in the Lord , and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4 [ESV])

We should not miss understand this, He, God, knows what you need and will thus give you desires for what you truly need and then also fulfil those desires. We only need to be focused on doing good and find our delight in Him. We need only to abide in Him…

I pray that you will find your delight in your God and do good, while He (God) create in you the desires for what you truly need and that His name will be glorified!! AMEN!!!

Mense Van Die Weg

Jesus_is_the_way

… gehoorsaamheid is beter as offergawes of lof (1 Sameul 15:22).

Walking in the Light and Social Justice

walking_in_the_light

The effect of having the light of God in our lives becomes overwhelmingly visible. His light is the life of Christ which could not be overcame by the darkness (John 1:4). Just as it is impossible to hide a candle in a dark room, so the life of Christ seeps into every thing around it. The effect of light is all that is good and right and true (Ephesians 5:9), influencing and changing the world for the better.

So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going (John 12:35 ESV).

While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” (John 12:36 ESV).

the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.” (Matthew 4:16 ESV).

to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:79 ESV).

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12 ESV).

and if you are sure that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness… (Romans 2:19 ESV).

The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light (Romans 13:12 ESV).

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5 ESV).

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9 ESV).

Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness (Luke 11:34 ESV).

Walk in light, follow light recognise the light and live the light…

As a believer and follower of The Lord Jesus Christ one cannot be, but involved with Social Justice. Being a Christ follower impels us to be an advocate of and at times also take an active stand for Social Justice.

True religion is to visit the sick and care for the orphans… (James 1:27).

I believe that as people are walking in their calling some will be impelled to immerse themselves as actively as possible in the fight for Social Justice, thereby becoming to some extent activists in the specific area they believe they are called to. Other believers may not be as actively involved in Social Justice but they nevertheless should have opened ears and hearts to know and recognise when there is an out cry for Social Justice. Consequently, they should respond appropriately to the outcry as they are instructed by God and His Word. We therefore only need to walk in the light.

God Se Blywende Woord

Wie was hierdie Almagtige God wat my volkome geken en my onvoorwaardelik liefgehad het? Wat het Hy van my begeer? Waar was my plek in die wêreld? Hoekom was die lewe so moeilik?

God se Woord is blywend.

God se Woord is blywend, want God is blywend.

Vandag ’n paar jaar later, skud ek my beursie uit.

Here, dankie, dat daar altyd hoop is.
