We are being consumed by a world focused on selfishness and everyone turning their focus to their own lives. Life is about me, my family, my job, my problems and what I want. Not even God can find His place in this equation because we do not even think about including Him.
What we do not realise is that consume implies that we are being eaten alive by a world system that will spit us out when we have list our flavour and usefulness. The key is found in purpose and what we can do for one another. When we learn that life is about community also we
We can learn from one another and remind one another that God’s place is among us and we should always include Him.
A good read is a book by Sarah Young called Jesus Today. Herewith an extract:
There Is So Much to Rejoice About!
Rejoice in Me always. Let your gentleness be evident to all.
I am near.
Rejoicing in Me can protect you from the temptation to complain. When your circumstances are stressful, it is easy for you to become irritable. But I want you to demonstrate gentleness – not irritability. This is possible to the extent that you find Joy in Me.
Since I am the same yesterday, today, and forever, there is always much for you to rejoice about.
You can be joyful in the knowledge that I am near. When a man and a woman are deeply in love, they often bring out the best in each other. Just being near the beloved can soothe irritations and increase happiness.
May we all be focused on God, our source of life, always. Amen!
