I want to encourage each and everyone to hold vast to the love of God which He is pouring out into our lives daily!
We will never be able to truly love if we do not embrace God’s love for us. When we do embrace it, we will be able to love God and everybody around us.
Here is a message from Johan that really made me think:
Do we really love God as much as we say we do?
Think of this:
If we really love God we will not try to find time, but we will make time to spend with Him like Daniel did three times a day. (Daniel 6:10)
If we really love God we will not talk about Him occasionally but we will proclaim His name at every occasion, whether the time is right or not. (2 Timothy 4:12)
If we really love God, trying not to sin will not be enough but we will live a holy life dedicated to God. (2 Peter 3:12)
If we really love God we will not love those who loves us, but we will love everybody – our neighbour and even our enemies. (Mark 12:33 and Matthew 5:44)
If we really love God we will not run to God, begging Him to deliver us from our situation but we will trust Him to use the situation we’re in to His glory. (Habakkuk 3:17)
If we really love God we will not just call upon Him when we’re in need, but we will give to others, so that God will give to us. Indeed, we will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold for the measure we use for others is the one that God will use for us. (Luke 6:38)
If we really love God, we will not hate or carry thoughts of revenge, but we will strive for peace with everyone. (Hebrews 12:14)
Men, if we really love God we will not neglect, hurt or abuse our wives in any way, but we will love and cherish them, loving them as Jesus loved the church. (Ephesians 5:25 and 28)
Wives, if we really love God we will not ignore, dominate or disobey our husbands, but will submit to them, as they submit to God. (Colossians 3:18)
Children, if we really love God we will not discard or disrespect our parents but we will honour and obey them. (Colossians 3:20)
God has proven His love to us by giving His Son, Jesus, to die for us. (John 3:16) Jesus showed His love by taking up the cross and dying for us. (John 15:13) Oh, if they gave their best, if they gave their utmost, how then can we say we love while serving half-heartedly? If we say we love God, we will give our all, surrender our life, accept Jesus, and do the will of the Father. How can we say we love God, when we do not love our neighbour? (1 John 4:20) How can we say we love God, when we’re not spending time with Him? How can we say we love God, if we do not give to the needy, help the poor, reach out to the sick and evangelize the lost?
Lord I pray, Let our love for you be seen in the way we live, let people see how much we love you in the way we act or react. Let our love for you be revealed in the love we share with others. I pray this in Jesus name – Amen
Regards and God bless,
