e-Sword can easily be installed on a Linux system running Wine 1.3
Firstly you need to install wine:
open a terminal window
after the ~$ type:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
type your password if prompted and hit enter
the following will appear on you screen

sudo apt-get install wine1.3

hit enter
wine will be downloaded and installed
NOW update the winecfg file:
set oleaut32 to builtin in winecfg
after the ~$ type:
winecfg
hit enter
go to the libraries tab
go to new override for library:
type oleaut32
click on it
then click on add
scroll down to oleaut32
select it and click edit
set the library overrides for oleaut32 to (native, builtin)
click OK
click OK again
install the needed dll for windows
after the ~$ type:
winetricks msxml3 # install MSXML3 support
wait for the installation to finish
after the ~$ type:
winetricks msls31 vbrun6 vcrun6 wsh57
wait for the installation to finish
Once these are installed you can install E-sword
right click on the setup1010.exe
open with, wine windows program loader
then
follow the install screen instructions…
AND THEN RUN e-SWORD
Thank You, This works perfectly on Linux Mint 17.3 as well as xubuntu 14.04. I can use e-sword again!! Goodbye Windows … for good!!!

Try to do a google search on dll downloads. You might be able to download vbrun6

I get an error trying to with the command winetricks msls31 vbrun6 vcrun6 wsh57. It has to do with vbrun6. All other dlls loaded. What can I do.
